One of Newtown’s most iconic murals painted by Newtown resident Colin Bebe over a decade ago, in 2017 the Mural was painted over by an artwork promoting ‘Mother!’ When Director Darren Aronofsky heard about the incident he apologised and promised to foot the bill for restoring “it’s like a jungle sometimes” in co-operation with Bebe (Virtual Tour)

Ox King & Tim Phibs collaborated on ‘Rising Tide;’ completed in November 2019 and supported by Inner West Council, the Newtown Mural centres on the dual challenges posed by climate change and the rising price of land facing young people across Australia (Virtual Tour). The adjacent Bailey Street also features works via Muralist and Designer Andrew Dennis from September 2016 and Nick Sweetman who, in a 2019 collaboration with Tim Phibs and Pudler, created a Mural dedicated to White Ibises highlighting the bird’s presence within ancient Egyptian Art and origins in Australia (Virtual Tour)
