Margaret Street Art, Newtown

Margaret Street, Newtown – Street Art, Sydney – Artist; Sharon Billinge

Sydney Artist Sharon Billinge’s first Newtown Mural was completed in September 2017; the Artist focuses their work on large-scale Murals that bring people together and strengthen communities. The work is “inspired by the strong spirited local historical figure of Mary Reibey (and) suggests an imagined world where a young woman is starting to make decisions about what and where she wants to be”

Commissioned as part of the Sydney’s Inner West Council Perfect Match ‘Edge Street Art in Public Places’ program matching “Artists with residents and community to collaboratively produce site specific Street Art” #perfectmatchinnerwest #EDGEinnerwest
