Holt Street, Newtown – Street Art, Sydney – Ox King, Tim Phibs

Ox King & Tim Phibs collaborated on ‘Rising Tide;’ completed in November 2019 and supported by Inner West Council, the Newtown Mural centres on the dual challenges posed by climate change and the rising price of land facing young people across Australia

OX King is a Sydney-based, UK born Painter and Illustrator working between his studio and Sydney streets. Ox King employs psychedelic pop colours to contrast dark humour and a combination of ambiguous text and imagery to explore addiction, junk food and advertising

Tim Phibs creates works, Murals and Street Art across mediums reflecting on multiculturalism, symbolism and mythology. Producing large-scale pieces spanning decades in Sydney and Melbourne, Tim Phibs (Phibsroy to Inner Melbourne) came from a Graffiti background and exhibits throughout Australia and internationally. Originally from Sydney, Tim Phibs’ work is strongly inspired by nature

The adjacent Bailey Street features Tim Phibs’ collaboration with Nick Sweetman highlighting Australia’s (and ancient Egypt’s) White Ibis
