Darley Street Art, Newtown
Darley Street, Newtown – Street Art, Sydney – Artists; Dallas Clark & Stephen Evans
Dallas Clark and Stephen Evan’s 2015 Newtown Mural ‘Postcards from Newtown,’ on the southern edge of Newtown astride the Botany View Hotel, was commissioned by the Inner West Council’s Perfect Match Program. The Mural includes the Newtown Jets, the industrial towers, Newtown Station and Juilee Pryor’s and Andrew Aiken’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have A Dream” Mural
“The Artwork takes the form of a classic postcard, with each letter containing an image symbolising an iconic element of the Inner West. It is painted from pencil sketches, in brush and acrylic paint, to give a classic scene look. The wall was chosen for its proximity to south King Street, a major entry point to Newtown”
